Boris Nemtsov, Vice Premier of Russia, a co-chair of the People's Freedom Party, a member of the Coordinating Council of Russian opposition, supported our campaign and joined “Freedom x 2” calling for immediate release of Mikola Statkevich and Zmitser Dashkevich.

Marina Adamovich and Anastasiya Dashkevich, wives of Belarus political prisoners Mikola Statkevich and Zmister Dashkevich, together with MEP Marek Migalski started a petition at Change.org, ask to support the campaign “Freedom x 2”.

On the anniversary of the events at Niezavisimosti Square in Minsk, the office of MEP Marek Migalski together with the campaign “European Belarus” and relatives of political prisoners organized press conference at the Belarusian House in Warsaw. In the conference participated Natalia Radina - the editor of the portal Charter97, Aleksandr Atroshchenko - the press secretary for candidate Andrei Sannikov and Dmitriy Bondarenko – the coordinator of the campaign “European Belarus”.

Today, in frames of “Freedom x 2”, the office of MEP Marek Migalski organized a solidarity action with two Belarus political prisoners, Mikola Statkevich and Zmitser Dashkevich.
 

Today, on December 10, 2012, a solidarity action with two Belarus political prisoners, Mikola Statkevich and Zmitser Dashkevich, took place in Katowice, in front of the rector's office of the Silesian University (Katowice, Bankowa str. 12). The goal of the event was to express the solidarity with these two Belarus oppositionists.
 
December 10 is a special date, as this is the Human Rights Day.
 

 
Our office together with a civil campaign “European Belarus” organized a solidarity picket with political prisoners in Belarus within the bounds of a solidarity campaign with Mikola Statkevich and Zmister Dashkevich, which has been initiated by eurodeputy Marek Migalski.
 

 
One more time Eurodeputy Marek Migalski has intervened in case of a political prisoner, 2010 presidential candidate Mikola Statkevich. Mass media informed, that the authorities of the prison No. 4 in Mohylev wanted to isolate him completely. He is refused to meet with an Orthodox priest and the correspondence is blocked. He doesn’t get any parcels, newspapers or booklets.
 

The last petition in support of Mikola Statkevich and Zmister Dashkevich provoked a huge discussion. 
 
The leading idea of the discussion is the next – is there any reason to sign a petition, if this appeal does not resolve the problem of political prisoners?
 

A photo exhibition, dedicated to Belarus political prisoners and their relatives, was opened in the Parliament of Finland.

The President of the Nordic Council, Kimmo Sasi, ministers and deputies of the member states of the Council, Finnish parliamentarians, experts and journalists took part in the opening of the exhibition “Letters: courage and pain”.

The court of Mozyr is expected to arrive at the penal colony on October 30 to hold trial over Zmitser Dashkeivch. The leader of Czech-based international organization Young Front can be moved from the penal colony in Mozyr to a supermax prison, because Zmitser Dashkevich has been classified as a “persistent violator of prison rules”, BelaPAN news agency reports.

It's rather strange when he managed to violate the prison regulations, because Zmitser Dashkevich was thrown into a punishment cell and later into a cell-type unit just on arrival at penal colony No. 20 in Mozyr.
